Join CALCASA and our guest Professor Pat Libby on Wednesday, June 6 at 2 pm for a webinar exploring the differences between lobbying and advocacy for 501c3 organizations. As CALCASA and rape crisis centers become more politically engaged in local, state, and federal policy issues, it is becoming increasingly important to delineate between our role as advocates for legislation supporting sexual violence intervention and prevention efforts and lobbyists for a particular bill.
Professor Libby will provide clarification on the differences between these roles over the course of a 90 minute webinar, geared towards the needs of rape crisis centers, their management, executive directors, and board of directors.
Pat Libby, Clinical Professor, created and directs the Institute for Nonprofit Education and Research (INER). INER was developed in 2001 through a comprehensive environmental scanning process that involved interviews, focus groups and surveys of hundreds of actors in the nonprofit, philanthropic and academic communities. Its pedagogy has a unique emphasis that interweaves theory with applied learning.
