In the spirit of collaboration, and seeking relationships with partners that helps advocates provide comprehensive services to survivors, CALCASA staff had an opportunity to attend the California Coalition on Sexual Offending (CCOSO) Annual Conference this year. CCOSO was founded in 1986 as a resource for professionals that work with sex offenders. The four day conference provided workshops on the Containment Model, Risk Assessment and Management of sex offenders and a variety of topics in the field of sex offender management. CALCASA staff engaged in discussions with probation staff and service providers for sex offenders around victim advocacy in order to create a dialogue between the world of survivors and those that work with offenders. It is our hope that this relationship will continue to blossom and CALCASA will work with CCOSO to provide future trainings for their members.
