Current Role and Organization

Rape Crisis Center Manager at Tri-Valley Haven

Why did you apply to be a LEAP Fellow?

I applied to be a LEAP Fellow because I stand in solidarity against violence, uplifting and empowering the staff I work with and the survivors we support.I applied because I am a survivor of intimate partner violence, and my passion is to contribute to ending these cycles of gender-based violence. I recognize that women of color are underrepresented in leadership of the social work field, including the movement against violence. I am grateful to be a part of this community of women of color, who have the leadership abilities, grit, and passion to continue making intentional changes in the world and this movement.

I joined this fellowship to connect with my colleagues about skill development and important resources, while learning and sharing my own knowledge.
