Dear Community, I am Kishana Smith, and my pronouns are she/her. I am honored to be the Massachusetts Women of Color Network (MAWOCN) Program Manager. I’ve been devoted to the field of anti-violence work for the past 11 years. I have an educational background in Business Management nonprofit management. My personal experiences led me to this work though, where I have found joy, healing, and purpose. I identify as a survivor of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other injustices. I commit to leading with integrity, accountability, open-mindedness, and an eagerness and excitement to lead, learn, and serve. I am thoughtful in my areas of privilege, and I value and welcome feedback. I’m thrilled and energized to support the mission of the MAWOCN. I commit to anti-oppression and survivor-led principles that should direct our work. I aim to mirror good self-care, healthy boundaries, great listening, and communication. I commit to continued learning and working in service of survivors and the heroes doing this work.
