CALCASA and Partners Unveil CA Says NO MORE License Plate

1 in 3 women in the US are sexually assaulted or are abused by an intimate partner in her lifetime. Together with our partners and legislative allies, CALCASA is saying NO MORE to sexual assault and domestic violence.
In September, Governor Brown signed Assembly Bill 2321, authored by Assemblymember Gomez, which established a specialized license plate to create a new funding source for California rape crisis centers and domestic violence agencies.
Building off of the success of the national NO MORE campaign, we are proud to unveil the California Says NO MORE license plate that will feature the NO MORE logo, a unifying symbol to raise awareness for sexual assault and domestic Screenshot 2015-05-15 14.45.04violence. California is proud to be the first state to create this license plate and fund, which is hoped to spread to other states of the nation.
The license plate was launched by Assemblymember Gomez and NO MORE Campaign Ambassador AnnaLynne McCord at the California State Capitol on Monday, May 18th 2015, in partnership with California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA), California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (CPEDV), National NO MORE Campaign, California Says NO MORE, and California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES). The launch marks an unprecedented collaboration between agencies working against domestic violence and those fighting against sexual assault. This partnership is a great opportunity to elevate both sexual and domestic violence to receive the public awareness and support they need to stop the violence and support survivors to heal.
Production of the license plate will commence when 7500 orders are placed at http://www.CAsaysNOMORE.com/license. From this first effort alone, $375,000 will be raised in California for prevention of sexual and intimate partner violence and access to services for survivors, including: shelter, emergency hotline, counseling, support groups, restraining orders, etc. The California Says NO MORE license plate will allow every Californian to make a difference; foster a cultural shift from silence and shame to testimony, healing, and liberation; and ignite national change about intimate partner and sexual violence.
