My “Pay It Forward” project is a guidebook that provides a framework to begin creating equitable and inclusive spaces for underrepresented communities within non-profit boards. Thetarget audience includes boards and community members passionate about DEI, ensuring fair representation, and equal opportunities. This guidebook empowers boards to recognize that not every board member is on the same playing field and take the steps necessary to provide support. Thus, the tool ensures we provide underrepresented board members tools to be an advocate and have a voice at the table. 

An important piece of board recruitment is developing a retention strategy that maintains the board member’s relationship with the organization and ensures that board members feel supported by the organization!
