Angela, originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico, is a highly accomplished professional with a master’s and a doctoral degree in Psychology from the University Carlos Albizu in San Juan. She has dedicated over a decade to advancing the cause of women in Puerto Rico, fulfilling various roles in education, prevention, and intervention. Angela has worked as a community advocate, case manager, and workshop facilitator, providing therapy to survivors of sexual assault and promoting gender equality. She has collaborated with prestigious organizations like Hogar Ruth and Coordinadora Paz para las Mujeres. Angela is also a valuable resource for the Office of Court Administration, delivering critical training on domestic violence, sexual assault, and collective care. Her influence extends national as a member of the Peace Corps Sexual Assault Advisory Council. Currently, Angela serves as the Manager of the “Tu Paz Cuenta” Program at Taller Salud, overseeing social work, psychology, support groups, counseling, legal representation, and a 24-hour helpline for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in the northeastern region of Puerto Rico. For over four years, Angela has worked diligently with her team at Taller Salud to combat violence against women on the island.
