Joella Ann Montoya is the Assistant Director at Community Against Violence (CAV) in Taos, New Mexico. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico. Joella was born and raised in Taos, a rural community in Northern New Mexico whose majority population is Hispanic and Native American populations. She is passionate about serving the community that raised her and lives her organizations mission “to foster and support a community free from all forms of domestic and sexual violence” every day. She is the mother of two amazing young women and strives to be an example to her daughters that minority women can be strong, compassionate, and effective leaders in organizations that affect change and foster communities that are safe and free of violence. Joella brings with her years of working in the non-profit sector for organizations that work to create opportunity and space for young people of minority populations to excel. She is happy to have found her home at CAV and looks forward to leading the organization forward in its work to create a violence free Taos and surrounding communities.
