She has been married for 18 years and has two wonderful children. She is a passionate and fierce advocate for the community, and she hopes to make a difference in her community by inspiring others to feel empowered to raise their voices and create change.
For eight years, she has worked closely with Sure Helpline Center in the prevention and support services for sexual and domestic violence. She oversees the Sure Helpline Center advocacy department and provides counseling services to survivors of SA/DV. She oversees the agency team’s daily activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and governmental labor rules and regulations. She ensures the team has the necessary resources for their tasks and fosters a positive work environment. She coordinates the PREA services and facilitates support groups for the detention center, community reentry program, and local prisons. She is dedicated and has a passion for the job she does, and most importantly, she strives to remind the community that they are not alone.
She has a background working for the Immigration Office of Refugee Resettlement, providing support services, and reunifying undocumented children with their families in the United States. She has also worked with the Behavioral and Mental Health Department, providing family CBT interventions and assessments to assure the delivery of psychiatric, medical, and conservatorship services to improve the quality of family environments. She enjoys working in a team setting and strongly believes in the power of building strong partnerships to achieve a bigger impact on our people. No matter how difficult life has been, she works hard to maintain hope, always looking for solutions. She hopes to inspire future generations to continue to build a community free from sexual and domestic violence and to remember that all efforts are worth it in the end.
