Kuante Scriven is a passionate social worker with eight years of experience working as an advocate and ally to underserved and marginalized populations. Although young in her career, Kuante has found her experience and passion in working with shelter services with unaccompanied minors, families experiencing homelessness, and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Before embarking on this rewarding career, Kuante pursued her bachelor’s degree from Charleston Southern University as a double major in psychology and sociology. She furthered her education by obtaining her Master’s in Clinical Social from Rutgers University, along with a certification in violence against women and children. Kuante has worked in shelter services in her home state of South Carolina, but has since broadened her services to Arlington, Virginia where she currently serves as the Housing Program Manager with Doorways.

Outside of work, Kuante finds joy in spending time and making memories with her family. She especially enjoys anything that allows her to spoil her nephews, who bring her an endless supply of pure joy. When not doting over her nephews, Kuante enjoys a good book, cooking, and documentaries.
