Lilia Chavez first began her work as a Victim Services Intern and later as a Sexual Assault Response Team Advocate before joining WEAVE in 2015. In 2016, Lilia found her passion supporting survivors long-term in WEAVE’s Transitional Housing Program where she began to develop her leadership skills. In 2019, Lilia was promoted to manager and later to director overseeing WEAVE’s Housing and Client Prosperity Department, a department developed in response to the needs of survivors to stabilize and thrive after their initial crisis and traumatic experiences.

Lilia is a member of WEAVE’s Leadership Team and currently supports a team of nineteen working to implement programs including emergency shelter, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, housing assistance, financial empowerment, and employment services. Lilia’s team provides Strengths Model Case Management, implements a Housing First program, the Sacramento Steps Forward Problem-Solving Access Point housing assistance program, and the Sacramento City Women and Family Shelter Project. In addition, Lilia’s work includes partnering with the Sacramento Continuum of Care to increase housing access for survivors.

Lilia has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and is bilingual in Spanish.
