Nida Abbasi, JD, is the Associate Director of Court and Community Initiatives at the Center for Court Innovation. She works on the Gender and Family Justice technical assistance team, where she collaborates with courts and communities seeking to transform their approach to intimate partner violence. Nida focuses on access to justice, trauma-informed and culturally-responsive practices, complex dynamics in family violence cases, and training development. Prior to joining the Center, Nida worked as a civil legal aid attorney for survivors of domestic violence in Chicago, IL. She also interned at the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation and the Gender Health & Justice Research Unit at the University of Cape Town. Nida received her JD from the University of Michigan Law School and her BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
