Virginia Garcia (She, Her, Ella) is a Project Coordinator for VALOR working out of the Pasadena Office. She joins Valor with experience providing direct intervention and preventive services with a focus on underserved populations. In 2015, Virginia began her journey in the anti-violence movement. Her experience in the field began as a volunteer answering sexual and intimate partner violence calls via hotlines and providing 24-hour sexual assault response to SART centers. She quickly found a passion for the movement and joined a grassroots organization in Los Angeles County where she managed several projects. Some of these projects included Emergency Response Coordination, the Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART), Title IX Coordination, as well as assisting with emergency domestic violence shelter service placements during the onset of COVID. One of her proudest roles was that of the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Program manager where she worked ensuring survivors who are detained received emergency response services, were educated on their rights, had access to 24-hour hotline and case management supportive services, and where she also facilitated psychoeducational groups at various county jails. When she is not in the office she enjoys being with her family, going to concerts, and loves the sport of football!
