Description

Armed with up-to-date legally accurate information state coalitions and their member programs can enhance the important role they play supporting immigrant survivors of sexual and domestic violence. In part 1 of this series, participants will learn about new tools victim advocates can use in safety planning and helping ensure that immigrant survivors’ access all of the protections and services they and their children are legally eligible to receive that help victims rebuild their lives and thrive.

Topics to be covered include: Protections under VAWA confidentiality, including safeguards against deportation Legal protections for survivors who have filed or are preparing to file for victim-based immigration relief.

This training is designed specifically for state coalition leadership and staff and will serve as an introduction to the tools, training, and tailored technical assistance NIWAP provides to support coalitions and their member programs in meeting the evolving needs of immigrant survivors.
