The 2006 FBI crime statistic journal is available to view. The journal, Crime in the United States, is a “statistical compilation of offense and arrest data as reported by law enforcement agencies throughout the Nation. The FBI collected these data via the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program.”
Interestingly, the FBI reported that for “the second consecutive year, the estimated number of violent crimes in the Nation increased by 1.9 percent….In 2006, there were an estimated 92,455 forcible rapes reported to law enforcement, a 2.0-percent decrease from the 2005 estimate”
