Earlier today, the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) made a statement about the Adult Entertainment Fee (AEF), referred to by some as the “pole tax.”
In addition, TAASA posted some background information on the AEF and the ongoing court proceedings, as well as what programs the fee has already been appropriated to finance.
TASSA said, that “Media coverage has come and gone in waves as the court case against the AEF continues. Misconceptions about the AEF and its financing of sexual assault-related services abound, and TAASA chose to take this opportunity to set the record straight about why we feel the AEF is an appropriate source of funding of sexual assault-related programming.”
