The Sacramento Bee reported yesterday, that “all bills that have a general fund cost of $50,000 or more will go automatically to the Senate suspense file. Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata sent out a message Friday notifying members of the change in light of the current budget crisis.”
Under normal circumstances, “the Senate Appropriations Committee places bills on suspense if they cost more than $150,000. The sudden rule change will mean that most bills will end up in the suspense file.”
