Yes, there is ALWAYS room for FUN in the movement And CALCASA’s 2009 Annual Leadership Conference is just the place for that, of course, there will also be time for the serious stuff!! Join us for CALCASA’s Annual Social Event and Reception, hosted by CALCASA’s Council Members, on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm for some games, music, food, no-host bar and just plain FUN!
Take some time to relax with some yoga and stick around for some door prizes. You can’t miss this great opportunity to be surrounded by your fellow advocates from around the state for some time to network, laugh, and just engage in some fun times!! As they say, “laughter is the food for the soul,” so come and FEED YOUR SOUL!!! See you there!

During CALCASA’s 2009 Annual Leadership Conference, you will have an opportunity to convene with advocates from your specific regional areas and those who share similar experiences as Women of Color, Queer Women and Persons with Disabilities. CALCASA’s Council will be hosting meetings throughout the Conference for you to attend and network. If you have not had the opportunity to attend a Region or Caucus meeting in the past, this is a great opportunity to meet other advocates as well as you Region and Caucus Representatives. Caucus and Region Meeting times are as follows:

  • Women of Color North and South Caucus:  A  caucus  for women in the Northern and Southern regions of CA who ethnically and/or racially identify as women of color and are staff of member agencies of CALCASA. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 5:00pm – 6:30pm
  • Queer Women’s Caucus: A  caucus  for lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning women involved in CALCASA Member agencie throughout the State of California. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 1:00pm – 2:00pm
  • Advocacy Caucus for Persons with Disabilities: A prevention and advocacy caucus for people with disabilities, disability advocates and allies from Member rape crisis centers in CA. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 8:30am – 9:30am
  • All CALCASA Regions – North Region, South Region, Valley Region, Bay Region, Central Coast, Mid-Coast – will be meeting during the same time on: Wednesday, August 19, 2009 11:30am – 1:15pm.   Grab your lunch and come join us for the region meeting!
