OJJPC reportThe Office on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention has just released a report on findings from the National Survey of Children’s Exposure to Violence, the most comprehensive survey to date of children’s exposure to violence in the United States. This survey finds that 6.1 percent of all children surveyed had been sexually victimized in the past year and nearly 1 in 10 (9.8 percent) over their lifetimes.
