CALCASA has just added to its library the DVD THE LINE
. This film asks the question: Where is the line defining consent? Told through a “sex-positive” lens,
it is a 24-minute documentary about a young woman who is raped, but her story isn’t cut and dry. She’s not a “perfect victim” and decides to confront her attacker, recording the conversation with a hidden camera. The documentary includes discussions about justice, accountability and “rape culture” from sex workers, survivors and activists.
The filmmaker, Nancy Schwartzman
, screened this film at the 2010 National Sexual Assault Conference
