The California Coalition Against Sexual Assault is pleased to announce the following three trainings for RPE Grantees and members of the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence.
1) Measuring Sexual Violence Prevention Efforts: A Hands-On Training

This is a repeat of the “Measuring Sexual Violence Prevention Efforts” training held on May 19, 2010, in Sacramento.
All of California’s Rape Crisis Centers (RCCs) and Domestic Violence Programs are actively engaged in prevention efforts, assisted in part by the Rape Prevention & Education (RPE) funding provided by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
This training will provide prevention educators and their supervisors with the opportunity to develop practical, program-specific, and integrated evaluation tools that will increase our ability to measure program effectiveness and reduce the cost in time and other resources to CDPH.
To prepare for this training, attendees should review the eLearning units of the previous Logic Model and Evaluation web conferences.
This is a free training for eligible registrants, made possible by funds provided by the California Department of Public Health’s Rape Prevention & Education Grant Program. Please note that no food or beverage will be provided to participants at this training.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Registration for this training is limited to:
1) Employees of California RCCs that are recipients of the RPE Grant Program administered by CDPH;
2) OR employees of member agencies of the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (CPEDV).
No more than two (2) employees per California RCC or CPEDV member may register for this training. If an agency wishes to send more than two employees, please send a request to Chad Sniffen, email@example.com. Additional registration requests will be approved based on available space.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe how evaluation tools will help them to more effectively assess the impact of their programs.
- List at least three program specific short and intermediate term outcomes in their logic models or objectives.
- Demonstrate an understanding of creative evaluation tools by identifying at least three strategies they can incorporate into their individual programs.
Applications for travel stipends are available to employees of Calfornia RCCs that are receipents of the RPE Grant Program. Approval of stipends will be based on need and available funding. Registrants will receive stipend application information after your registration is processed.
Travel stipends are NOT available for employees of CPEDV member agencies that do not receive RPE Grant funds.

2 and 3) Measuring Sexual Violence Prevention Efforts: Phase II of Finding Creative and Resource-Efficient Evaluation Approaches

This training is a follow-up to the May 2010 session in Sacramento for California Rape Crisis Centers focused on finding ways to measure prevention efforts more effectively and reduce the cost in time and other resources to the Centers. In this session, participants will walk through the evaluation process using examples identified in the first session, from inception through reporting. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to work in small groups to develop their own evaluation plans, instruments, and collection and reporting strategies.
