While many of the activities of most domestic violence and sexual violence organizations focus on serving the needs of survivors, the mission of each organization is to end the violence. Prevention work is an important part of how we can work to accomplish this mission. This workshop highlighted how domestic violence organizations can integrate prevention into their organizations.
There are several resources that we highlighted including
- Don’t let prevention stand alone: Integrating sexual & domestic violence prevention efforts in your agency & community (recording of PreventConnect web conference)
- Innovation Prevention: Year 2 Report from the National Sexual Violence Resource Center
- Strategies for integrating prevention into organizational operations (in The Perfect Shade of Change: Resources for Sexual Violence Preventionists Creating Safe and Healthy Communities) from the National Sexual Violence Resource Center
- Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence DELTA’s Organizational Capacity Checklist [PDF]
