One Billion RisingOn February 14, 2013, CALCASA staff will join legislators, community leaders, educators and students rise up to demand and end of violence on the West steps of the State Capitol at noon as part of the world-wide One Billion Rising movement. This vibrant international movement is inspiring action:

One in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. One billion women is an atrocity. One billion women dancing is a revolution…. This event will take place across the planet, when ONE BILLION women and those who love them walk out, dance, rise up and demand an end to this violence. ONE BILLION RISING will move the earth, activating women and men across every country.

The Sacramento One Billion Rising event is sponsored by California NOW, CALCASA, California Partnership to End Domestic Violence, WEAVE, Inc, My Sister’s House and other organizations.  If you are in the Sacramento area RSVP here. Learn about other One Billion Rising events taking place in over 193 countries (the count as of today.)
