We are excited to announce that through an open competitive process, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) selected CALCASA’s national online project, PreventConnect to continue to serve as the peer-learning platform for a cross-cutting E-Learning Collaborative to build prevention capacity for CDC’s sexual violence and intimate partner violence recipients, and other key stakeholders for the next three years. “CALCASA is proud our national project PreventConnect will continue to advance prevention of sexual and domestic violence. PreventConnect remains committed to creating opportunities to lift up new research, programs, and strategies,” said Sandra Henriquez CALCASA’s Chief Executive Officer.
PreventConnect is always creating opportunities to explore what’s on the horizon.“PreventConnect is the largest online community of people committed to preventing sexual violence and domestic in the nation. Since 2005, over 43,000 people have participated in PreventConnect eLearning and peer learning activities. PreventConnect has conducted more than 250 web conferences and released more than 400 podcasts of prevention practitioners and researchers,” said David Lee, CALCASA’s Director of Prevention.
PreventConnect will work with CDC, RALIANCE and other leading prevention organizations to elevate the voices of prevention practitioners and build connections across sectors. “We are thrilled to continue to offer web conferences and podcasts sharing the voices of prevention practitioners and their stories, and to elevate insights from research that move us toward preventing violence,” says Ashleigh Klein-Jimenez, CALCASA’s Project Manager of PreventConnect.
“We look forward to continuing to build, support, and connect with a community of prevention practitioners and highlight emerging research and innovative prevention strategies from the field,” said Tori VandeLinde, CALCASA’s Training and Technical Assistance Specialist who works directly with PreventConnect
