Many survivors of sexual violence have sexual health related concerns following an assault, but are often hesitant to discuss these concerns due to a cultural landscape of stigma and shame related to sexuality. Common questions include pressing issues related to sexual health, such as STI prevention and pregnancy options, but less seldomly addressed still are questions about reclaiming sexuality and agency as part of the healing process. This workshop will offer Advocates, and others who support survivors, trauma-sensitive tools to address these concerns in ways that destigmatize conversations about sexual health and agency after sexual violence.
