Description

Victim advocates have an important role to play in identifying the full range of legal remedies and rights available to sexual assault survivors through the criminal justice and civil process. This webinar will help advocates identify unique issues confronted by victims of sexual assault, and better understand what advocates can do to access legal remedies to promote victim empowerment and healing. We will address victims’ rights and remedies in safety planning, language access, Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funds, family and immigration law, public benefits and other arenas, and provide participants with the opportunity to explore how to “issue spot” survivor needs and develop strategies to meet them.
