This session will help advocates navigate challenging calls including, silent calls, prank calls and harassing calls. We aim to explore trauma-informed responses and policies that hold compassion and empathy for callers and advocates that reduce re-traumatization and disciplinary action, in particular, for callers in detention settings.
- Establish the importance of trauma-informed approaches during challenging hotline calls
- Identify various types of challenging hotline calls
- Determine how to respond to challenging calls in a trauma-informed manner.
