There were two documents distributed and discussed at the Volunteer Manager’s Training Institute that have been requested by numerous rape crisis centers across California, since the training ended. Those documents are:

  • Sexual Assault Training Standards – A Trainer’s Guide for Rape Crisis Centers: This guide contains teaching points to be covered for each topic of the 40-Hour minimum training requirements for sexual assault victim counselors. The content in this report is from 2009 and is not the current set of standard. Click here to download the 2009 document.
  • CAL-EMA(OES) Service Standards (2016): These service components are central to the operations of rape crisis centers and to the rights and needs of rape/sexual assault victims. Although each service is represented as a distinct set of activities, there is considerable overlap and inter-dependency between services. In the following discussion, a service standard that is the minimum level of adequate service is established.
