The Women of Color Network (WOCN), a collaboration between the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) and the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV),  is a National Grassroots Organization that has been committed to providing Women of Color in mainstream domestic violence and sexual assault agencies a safe space to connect on a national level.  The WOCN provides technical assistance, trainings and advocacy to

help foster Women of Color in the advancement of their anti-violence work and leadership.

Since April 2007, the WOCN has hosted numerous National Call to Action calls to facilitate dialogue between Advocates and Activists of all ages,  Aspiring Allies, and Young WOC Advocates. Through these calls, the WOCN heard from Call to Action Participants that a National gathering was high on their priority list so the WOCN worked towards making this goal a reality.   Recently, the Women Of Color Network received funding from the Office for Victims of Crime to  host the first WOCN National Call to Action Institute and Conference.
The Institute and Conference will take place May 10 – 14, 2010 in New Orleans, LA. May 11 – 12, 2010 will host 3 separate institutes, a Women of Color Institute, a Mainstream Women Allies’ Institute and a Men’s Institute (in partnership with A Call to Men).  May 13 – 14 will bring all three institutes together for the Conference.  More information about this Conference will be available soon!
