Participants presenting project assignment at Volunteer Management Institute.

25 individuals from rape crisis centers across California participated in a two-day Volunteer Management Training Institute on February 1- 2 in Pacifica, CA to increase their skill sets to make their volunteer programs better.

After a full day of small group work, facilitated discussion, networking and presentations the participants split into multiple work groups and spent several additional hours in the evening applying what was learned to create a “Basic Marketing Plan” for their volunteer program and applying “Adult Learning Theory and Learning Models” to the content development of their volunteer training for sexual assault advocates.
The following morning the groups provided a 15 minute presentation on their projects.  People left the training energized and excited about applying different ideas and techniques gained from this training and their networking with other Volunteer Managers from across California.
If you missed this relevant training, do not fret; there will be other opportunities to participate in great CALCASA trainings in the future.
