As stated in a previous post, Protected time-off work for survivors of sexual assault, CALCASA and the Legal Aide Society-Employment Law Center of  San Francisco (LAS-ELC) have been working together to provide sexual assault and domestic violence advocates and survivors with resources related to survivor’s employment rights.  Through the LAS-ELC’s SURVIVE (Surviving Violence and Increasing Viable Employment) Program, survivors are informed of their rights to obtain protected time off from work, paid and unpaid,  to seek services such as counseling, legal advocacy, shelter, and medical attention related to injuries, physical and emotional, suffered due to sexual assault and/or domestic violence.
Above you can find videos featuring staff attorney’s from LAS-ELC addressing survivor’s rights for paid time off of work to seek services related to an assault.  The videos are available in Spanish, Mandarin and English.
If you need more information, or are seeking legal advice related to these issues, you can contact the Legal Aide Society-Employment Law Center of San Francisco here.
