Description

This web conference series will provide professionals supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) a foundation for being able to respond to sexual assault disclosures in a trauma-informed way. The series will help build knowledge around the prevalence of sexual assault and people with I/DD, services available to survivors of sexual assault in the community, the impacts of trauma, and more. 



Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to explain trauma and how trauma impacts people with disabilities
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate appropriate responses to trauma for people with I/DD
  • Participants will be able to analyze the role of ableism in sexual assault
  • Participants will be able to describe the impacts of self-advocacy & sexual health
