Description

New Title IX regulations effective on August 14, 2020 affect how K-12 and postsecondary schools must respond to sexual harassment and sexual violence in prevention curricula, policies, implementation, and grievance procedures. This session will focus on how the regulations apply to K-12 schools and discuss how they are different than those applied to institutions of higher education. This web conference is intended for those prevention educators who are currently working with school communities, educators, counselors, and administrators in K-12 and/or postsecondary settings and who have some familiarity with the Title IX regulations and implementation.



Learning Objectives

  • Recap the basics of the new federal Title IX regulations pertaining to sexual harassment/sexual violence.
  • Examine the differences under Title IX between K-12 schools and postsecondary schools.
  • Understand how the new K-12 Title IX regulations pertain to rape prevention activities.
