Description

This web conference will support advocates in building confidence and deepening their skills when working with incarcerated survivors living with mental illness. The session will explore the impact of stigma surrounding mental illness and incarceration, and how these factors can influence perceptions of survivors. The training will also offer practical strategies to meet survivors where they are, validate their experiences, and ensure that all survivors, regardless of their mental health status, have access to healing and support.

  • Highlight voices from the field to establish a comprehensive understanding of mental wellness
  • Explore actionable strategies for providing effective, trauma-informed support to survivors in detention through a mental wellness lens
