Description

This orientation (re)introduces participants to the California Advancing PREA Project, including the technical assistance providers, ValorUS and Just Detention International. Participants can expect to learn the history and goals of the project. VALOR and JDI will also discuss how we can support organizations in developing comprehensive, long-term approaches to serving incarcerated survivors. 

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and ask questions to seasoned leaders in the movement who have created meaningful programming for incarcerated survivors in their communities.

  • Highlight training and technical assistance resources and opportunities available to advocates and leaders supporting incarcerated survivors
  • Introduce an approach to developing long-terms goals for supporting incarcerated survivors
  • Highlight leadership practices that create comprehensive programming for incarcerated survivors
